Ujjwal Prakash: Exclusive Q&A

Question 01

How Did Ujjwal Prakash’s Free Fire Journey Begin?

Today, you are part of a major esports stage, but every big journey starts somewhere. How did your journey begin? When did you first play Free Fire, and what made you consider it a career rather than just a way to pass the time?

Ujjwal Prakash of Resurrection Esports

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

I started playing Free Fire around early to mid-2018 with three of my school friends. We used to play games like COC and Mini Militia together, and one day, we decided to try Free Fire. We started playing almost every night for an hour or two, just for fun.

Over time, we drifted apart, I made new friends online, and eventually, I started playing ITL with some of them. That’s when I got introduced to the competitive side of the game and started seeing a future in it.

Honestly, I never planned to make gaming my career. It just happened naturally, one thing led to another, and here I am today.

Question 02

How Did Your Family React to Your Esports Career Plans?

Pursuing gaming as a full-time career is not considered an easy choice in India. When you first brought up the idea at home, how did your family react? Was it difficult to convince them in the beginning?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

When I first brought it up at home, it was pure drama! You know how Indian parents react when you tell them you want to play games instead of focusing on studies.

But things started changing when they saw me playing live during FFIC 2020 on the official Free Fire channel. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, but once they saw that gaming was actually going somewhere and people were recognising me, their mindset started changing.

Question 03

What Has Been Your Biggest Contribution to Resurrection Esports?

Team Resurrection’s journey so far has been phenomenal. What would you consider your biggest personal contribution or core strategy in helping the team reach this level?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

I wasn’t in the playing four, so I don’t want to take any credit away from my boys. They played freakin’ incredible.

I was just there with them through the ups and downs, keeping them motivated, helping with strategies and VOD reviews, and making sure the vibes stayed good.

That’s pretty much what I contributed behind the scenes.

Question 04

How Does Your YouTube Community Help You?

You have built a YouTube channel with over 1.22 lakh subscribers, where fans enjoy watching Team Resurrection’s tournament POV videos and live streams. How does it feel to review your match POVs with your audience? Do their insights ever help you or the team adjust your strategies?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

Honestly, every creator loves getting good views on their streams, and I’m no different. I’m really grateful to everyone who comes to watch me on YouTube or Kick and keeps the chat active.

Even if there are just a few people watching, I appreciate them sticking around. And yeah, sometimes they point out things I might’ve missed, which helps.

But more than anything, I just enjoy interacting with them.

Question 05

How Did Krish’s Arrival Change Resurrection Esports?

What major changes to the team’s lineup and synergy followed Krish’s arrival? How did the addition help Resurrection Esports perform at such a high level on the FFMIC stage?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

Honestly, bringing Krish in was one of the most important decisions we made. He’s proved himself to be one of the best players on the Indian server, and even outside the game, he brings good vibes and keeps everyone’s morale up.

I know this is a sensitive topic and some people might not agree with our decision, but we did what we felt was best for the team, and I think our performance has proved that.

Question 06

Is Resurrection Esports Working on Its End-Zone Strategy Before FFWS?

Your team is known for its aggression and ability to land headshots, with the potential to eliminate opposing squads in an instant. However, securing the final Booyah has sometimes proved challenging, even after unlocking the Champion Rush bonus. Is the team working to improve its final-circle decision-making as part of its preparation for FFWS?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

Yeah, of course. We know that sometimes we get a little too aggressive, and that can cost us in the end zone.

We’re working hard on that, and we’ve even brought in additional personnel to help us improve our end-zone decision-making.

It’s a work in progress, but we know what needs to be fixed. We’ll get there, slowly but surely.

Question 07

What Is Ujjwal’s Response to the RNTX Acquisition Rumours?

There has been considerable discussion within the community and during your streams about rumours that RNTX could acquire Team Resurrection. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, how do you remain focused on gameplay and upcoming tournaments such as FFMAI amid these discussions?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

First of all, let me clear this up: those are just rumours for now.

And honestly, these talks don’t bother us one bit. We’re focused on our game and what’s coming next. That’s all that matters to us right now.

Question 08

How Special Was the Fan Support at the Noida LAN Event?

How did the support you received from fans at the LAN event at Noida Indoor Stadium make your journey more special? What message would you like to share with supporters who want to see you lift a trophy on the global stage?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

The LAN experience was incredible. The number of people supporting us might have been small, but the love was always there, and that’s what made it special.

I honestly can’t explain how grateful I am to the people who stood by us, even during our bad times.

It means a lot to me, and hopefully, one day, we can give all those people something to celebrate by lifting a trophy on the global stage.

Question 09

What Advice Would You Give Young Players Whose Parents Don’t Support Their Esports Dreams?

Many children from smaller towns dream of entering competitive gaming, but their parents may not support them because they are uncertain about gaming as a career. What advice would you give these young players on pursuing their passion while earning their parents’ trust?

Ujjwal Prakash

Ujjwal Prakash

Resurrection Esports

I don’t know if people actually look up to me or not, but one thing I can say from my almost seven years in esports is that you have to be realistic about it as a career option.

I would say give it a try, but don’t put all your time into it or neglect other opportunities.

Following your passion is never a bad thing, and there’s nothing wrong with chasing your dreams. Do what you want to do in life, work hard for it, and who knows? Maybe we’ll meet at the next LAN, and maybe you’ll be the next champion!

Final Thoughts

Ujjwal Prakash’s journey highlights the importance of passion, consistency, teamwork and staying realistic about the challenges of competitive gaming.

His insights offer a glimpse into Resurrection Esports’ team environment, the importance of behind-the-scenes support and the work the squad is putting into improving its end-zone decisions.

For aspiring esports players, his advice is particularly valuable: follow your passion, work hard and don’t ignore other opportunities along the way.

A special thank you to Ujjwal Prakash for sharing his thoughts with Free Fire Keeda and to the fans who continue to support the Indian Free Fire MAX esports community.
