Garena published the OB55 Patch Notes on September 10, 2026. Some of the weapon changes and new weapons mentioned in the patch notes will arrive with the next Clash Squad season on October 1, 2026.

Let’s check all the important changes in simple English.

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1 Returns

One of the biggest parts of the OB55 update is the return of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1.

The Naruto collaboration brings new gameplay features to both Battle Royale and Clash Squad. Players will once again be able to experience Naruto-themed locations, abilities and items.

Nine Tails Returns to Battle Royale

The Nine Tails is back, and this time it can directly affect the battlefield.

At the beginning of a match, one of several Nine Tails events can happen.

The Nine Tails may:

  • Attack the plane with a Tailed Beast Bomb and set it on fire.
  • Force players to eject after the countdown ends.
  • Destroy Arsenals on Bermuda, allowing players to collect high-tier loot without an Arsenal Key.
  • Create a crater filled with loot on Bermuda.

There is also a new Sharingan: Control event during the match.

Players can capture it and select an area to attack. After a 5-second warning, Nine Tails launches a Tailed Beast Bomb at the selected location.

The explosion deals 60 damage within a 100-meter radius.

After the explosion, 8 to 10 flame areas can appear. Each flame area lasts for 5 to 10 seconds and can deal continuous damage to players standing inside it.

Hidden Leaf Village Returns

The popular Hidden Leaf Village is returning to Free Fire.

Players can meet their teammates there before a match, enjoy the ramen area and visit the Ninja Academy.

A new Ninja Academy building has also been added.

There is also an interactive swing near the Ninja Academy. Using the swing gives players a permanent 5% movement speed boost.

Hidden Leaf Village will also become the default cabin on all maps.

Reanimation Revival Points

Revival Points are getting a Naruto-themed makeover.

When a Revival Point is being captured, stone coffins will appear. Once the point is fully captured, eliminated teammates can return to the battlefield from these coffins.

Revived players will also receive temporary protection and the related revival supplies.

Gamakichi Summoning

Naruto fans will also find Gamakichi summoning scrolls around the map.

Players can interact with these scrolls to receive battle supplies.

It is a small feature, but it adds another Naruto-themed activity to Battle Royale.

Naruto Features in Clash Squad

The Naruto collaboration is not limited to Battle Royale.

Clash Squad is also getting several Naruto-themed changes.

New CS Features

  • Ninjutsu and Kunai can be purchased from the CS Store.
  • Pistols are replaced by Shurikens in the first round.
  • Cyber Airdrops are replaced by Ninjutsu Scroll Airdrops.
  • Hidden Leaf Village is added to the map pool.

This should make Clash Squad matches feel much different during the collaboration.

New Ninjutsu Skills

Several Naruto abilities are returning, along with a new skill called 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation.

8 Trigrams Palm Rotation

This is the new ninjutsu skill.

It lets the player dash forward and create a rotating Chakra shield for 3.5 seconds.

The shield can:

  • Knock back nearby enemies
  • Deal 25 damage
  • Absorb bullets
  • Deflect some throwables

Other Ninjutsu Skills

Fireball Jutsu: Deals 30 damage within a 4-meter range and burns enemies and Gloo Walls for additional damage.

Water Dragon Jutsu: Deals 30 damage within a 5-meter range and creates a short view-blocking effect.

Great Breach: Deals 30 damage, slows enemies by 50% and reduces their rate of fire by 20%.

Rasengan: Deals 70 damage and reduces the target’s movement speed by 50% and rate of fire by 20%.

Chidori: Deals 100 damage and prevents enemies from using Gloo Walls and the minimap for 3 seconds.

Cherry Blossom Clash: Deals 50 damage and knocks the enemy backward.

Shuriken and Kunai Are Back

Shuriken and Kunai are returning as secondary weapons.

Light Shuriken

Best for close-range fights.

Each throw launches three Shurikens one after another. Each can deal 17 to 28 damage depending on distance.

Heavy Shuriken

Designed for mid-range combat.

It launches a single fast Shuriken that deals 30 to 60 damage.

Fiery Kunai

This Kunai explodes after a short delay.

It can deal 50 to 80 damage to enemies within 5 meters and also causes burning damage.

Lightning Kunai

This Kunai can stop affected enemies from using throwables or their minimap for 3 seconds.

Wind Kunai

Wind Kunai slows enemies by 20% to 50% for 3 seconds, depending on how close they are to the explosion.

New Battle Royale Random Events

OB55 adds several new random events to Battle Royale.

These events can make every match play differently.

Peak Mania

Available on Bermuda.

Peak will have more SMGs, shotguns and melee weapons.

Razing Storm

Destructive storms can appear on the map.

Players will need to find cover inside buildings to stay safe.

Weapon Surge

Some weapon types can receive temporary advantages, including:

  • Lower Assault Rifle spread
  • Higher Assault Rifle armor penetration
  • Higher SMG armor penetration
  • Higher SMG accuracy

There is also a No Random Event option where nothing changes.

More Random Events Coming on October 1

Another batch of random events is scheduled for October 1.

Airdrops? Meteors!

Regular Airdrops will fall as meteors.

Black Friday

Vending Machines will offer more items with discounts.

Major Airdrop Changes

The airdrop system has received several changes.

Regular Airdrops

Regular Airdrops will start dropping at around 160 seconds into a match.

A total of 4 Regular Airdrops will appear per match.

Their map indicators, light beams and markers have also been improved.

Defense Airdrops

Two Defense Airdrops will land together at around 410 seconds.

Their loot quantity and quality have been increased so that an entire squad can get useful supplies.

Ultra Airdrop

One Ultra Airdrop will appear at around 410 seconds.

Capturing it still gives players Level 5 Armor and revives eliminated teammates.

New Device System

Free Fire is changing how devices work.

Players can now carry:

  • 1 Active Device
  • 1 Passive Device

Active Devices include:

  • Active Skill Card
  • Launch Pad
  • Supply Box
  • UAV-Lite
  • Mini Turret
  • Portal Go

Passive Devices include:

  • Dragon Sprinters
  • Jammer
  • Horizaline

This gives players more options when building their gameplay strategy.

New Follow and Train Mechanic

OB55 introduces a new Follow mechanic.

Players can now create a player train and automatically follow another player.

When a nearby player can be joined, a Follow button appears on the HUD.

Players can also use the Train emote to enter Train mode.

However, several actions can break the train, including:

  • Shooting
  • Switching weapons
  • Using scopes
  • Using throwables
  • Taking damage
  • Getting knocked down
  • Using vehicles
  • Jumping through windows
  • Using portals

Interestingly, using Med Kits, Inhalers, jumping, emotes and taking Out-of-Zone damage will not break the train.

Other Battle Royale Improvements

Garena has also made many smaller BR improvements.

Players can now preview and switch weapons while parachuting after revival.

Players can help teammates get up without stopping their Med Kit use.

The BR map now shows Revival Points and Vending Machines while players are still inside the cabin.

Weapons can now break Arsenal glass, allowing players to enter directly.

Coin Jars have also been added to ground loot.

The Solo Revival window at the start of a match has been reduced from 540 seconds to 410 seconds.

Clash Squad Gets New Grenades

Clash Squad is receiving two new throwables.

Flame Grenade

The Flame Grenade creates a burning area that lasts for 6 seconds.

Enemies inside take damage and lose armor durability.

The flames can also damage Gloo Walls.

An important detail is that teammates inside the flames can also take damage, so players need to use this grenade carefully.

Sonar Grenade

Sonar Grenade scans enemies within a 10-meter radius.

It reveals their locations for 3 seconds.

This can be useful for finding enemies hiding behind cover.

Smoke Grenade

The Smoke Grenade effect has also been adjusted to match the Smoke Vortex available in the Tactical Market.

Kenta Gets a Major Rework

Kenta is getting one of the biggest character changes in OB55.

His new skill creates a fast-moving tempest that can pass through Gloo Walls.

The tempest lasts for 8 seconds and deals 25 damage to enemies it hits.

Players can activate the skill again to teleport to the tempest’s current location.

After teleporting, Kenta gets a shield for 5 seconds with 20% damage reduction.

The skill has a 45-second cooldown.

Morse Balance Changes

Morse is being adjusted because of his strong stealth and flanking abilities.

His Aim Assist triggering range during stealth has increased:

4m → 12m

However, his maximum stealth duration has been reduced:

15 seconds → 13 seconds

Luna Nerf

Luna’s rate of fire bonus has been reduced.

Rate of fire bonus: 8% → 5%

Her ability to convert rate of fire into movement speed after hitting an enemy remains unchanged.

Wukong Buff

Wukong is getting a shorter transformation cooldown.

90 seconds → 75 seconds

This allows players to use his ability more often during matches.

Super Bonfire Nerf

Super Bonfire has also been reduced for better balance.

  • EP recovery per second: 20 → 10
  • Firing interval reduction: 15% → 8%

These changes affect Super Bonfire in the Tactical Market in Clash Squad.

Four New Weapons Coming on October 1

Four new weapons are coming with the next Clash Squad season on October 1, 2026.

M7

The M7 is a fully automatic Assault Rifle.

It uses a new recoil system where the weapon gradually pulls upward while firing.

It has high damage and good accuracy, making it suitable for medium and long-range fights.

Skorp

The Skorp is an SMG with a high rate of fire and strong armor penetration.

It is designed for fast close-range combat.

RPK

The RPK is a new Light Machine Gun.

It combines strong firepower with Assault Rifle-like mobility and uses the new recoil system.

Hawk

The Hawk is a sniper rifle with a unique firing system.

It carries only two rounds but can deliver very high burst damage.

Players who land both shots quickly can potentially eliminate enemies with low-level armor.

Major Weapon Balance Changes

The OB55 patch also changes the balance between different weapon classes.

SMG Changes

SMGs are becoming more mobile but will have less effective range.

Some major changes include:

  • MP5: minimum damage -15%, range -20%, movement speed +15%
  • MAC10: armor penetration +5%, range -15%
  • MP40: range -15%, movement speed +5%
  • P90: range -15%, movement speed +13%
  • Bizon: accuracy +10%
  • UMP: movement speed while firing +40%
  • Vector: range -30%

These changes make SMGs more focused on fast close-range fights.

Shotgun Changes

Several shotguns are receiving buffs.

  • M1014: movement speed +3%, movement speed while firing +5%
  • M1887: range +10%, reload speed +10%
  • MAG-7: movement speed +1%, movement speed while firing +2%
  • M590: range -25%, minimum damage +120%

Shotguns continue to focus on high burst damage in close-range combat.

Assault Rifle Changes

Assault Rifles are getting better accuracy and armor penetration in several cases.

Some notable changes:

  • M4A1: armor penetration +4%, accuracy +7%
  • SCAR: accuracy +10%
  • GROZA: movement speed while firing +50%
  • FAMAS: range +15%
  • AN94: armor penetration +12%, accuracy +6%
  • AUG: armor penetration +4%, accuracy +8%
  • Kingfisher: armor penetration +8%, reload speed +8%, accuracy +21%
  • G36: accuracy +14%

These changes are designed to make Assault Rifles more reliable at longer distances.

Sniper Rifle Nerfs

Several sniper rifles are losing some movement speed.

Changes include:

  • AWM: movement speed and movement speed while firing -8%
  • M82B: movement speed while firing -10%
  • M24: movement speed while firing -10%
  • VSK94: movement speed -15%
  • Kar98k: movement speed and movement speed while firing -8%

The goal is to keep sniper rifles powerful while reducing their mobility.

Marksman Rifle Changes

Several marksman rifles are also receiving movement-related nerfs.

M14, Winchester, SKS, SVD, Woodpecker and AC80 are among the weapons affected.

The Winchester will also receive a 60% reduction in extra damage to armor.

Machine Gun Changes

Machine Guns are being designed more around sustained fire.

Some major changes include:

  • M249 damage +30%
  • M249 minimum damage +18%
  • M60 rate of fire +25%
  • M60 magazine capacity: 70 → 85
  • Kord magazine capacity: 50 → 60

However, these weapons also receive reductions to movement speed, reload speed and/or accuracy.

New Weapon Prices and Sources

The AWM will cost 600 FF Coins in the Battle Royale Vending Machine, with a limit of 3 purchases per match.

From October 1:

  • M7: 400 FF Coins
  • Hawk: 400 FF Coins
  • Skorp: 100 FF Coins

In Clash Squad:

  • AWM price: 2200 → 2100 CS Cash
  • M7: 1600 CS Cash
  • Skorp: 1500 CS Cash
  • RPK: 1500 CS Cash
  • Hawk: 1700 CS Cash

The new weapons will also appear in different BR locations such as ground loot, Weapon Racks, blue zones and Arsenals.

Lone Wolf Gets Duel of Honor

A new Duel of Honor feature is coming to Lone Wolf.

Players can enable it from the mode selection screen or while creating a Lone Wolf or Clash Squad 1v1 Custom Room.

During the duel, players can use emoticons to interact with their opponent.

After winning, players can show an exclusive victory banner and results page.

Duel results can also be viewed on the player’s profile and lobby.

New Pyro Pal System

The Pyro system is getting a new feature called Pyro Pal.

Players can now have a friend’s Pyro appear next to their own Pyro.

The system can select an eligible friend automatically or let the player choose one.

Players can also take photos with both Pyros.

Other Pyro changes include:

  • New 100-day and 200-day login streak tags
  • 5 new fur colors
  • 10 new accessories
  • Faster Pyro reactivation after completing one BR-Ranked or CS-Ranked match

Prime Diamonds System

Free Fire is also introducing Prime Diamonds.

Players can spend Diamonds during one month and earn Prime Diamonds for the following month.

To unlock those Prime Diamonds, players need to top up any amount during the next month.

Prime Diamonds can be used for Luck Royale and Booyah Pass.

They are only valid during the month in which they are claimed and expire at the end of that month.

Vault Improvements

The Vault is becoming easier to use.

Players will now be able to preview items before equipping them.

Other improvements include:

  • New search bar in the Fashion section
  • More control over Fast Equip
  • Outfit changes during matchmaking
  • Items only become equipped after pressing the Equip button

This should make managing skins and outfits much easier.

Other OB55 Changes

Garena has also added several smaller improvements.

Players can now:

  • Display Final Shots and vehicle skins on their profiles
  • See larger Team Codes in the Friends sidebar
  • View full teams more clearly
  • Switch Presets in Training Grounds
  • Use a new speed boost while riding the Horse
  • Turn faster while holding the Horse’s halt button

Horse HP has also been reduced from 400 to 300.

Enemy pins within 5 meters of each other will now automatically merge into one pin.

Free Fire OB55 Update: What Is the Biggest Change?

The Naruto collaboration is clearly one of the biggest highlights of OB55, especially because Nine Tails, Hidden Leaf Village, Ninjutsu, Shuriken and Kunai are returning.

However, the weapon changes could have an even bigger long-term effect on the game’s competitive meta.

The new M7, Skorp, RPK and Hawk are also worth watching because they will arrive with the next Clash Squad season on October 1, 2026.

Kenta’s complete rework, Luna’s nerf, Wukong’s cooldown buff and the large weapon balance changes could also change which characters and weapons players prefer.

Final Words

The Free Fire OB55 update is a major patch with much more than a simple collaboration event.

Players are getting the return of Naruto content, new Battle Royale events, improved Airdrops, a new Follow mechanic, new Clash Squad grenades, character balance changes, four upcoming weapons, a new Lone Wolf feature and several system improvements.

If you are a Free Fire player, OB55 should bring plenty of new things to try. The next major weapon changes will arrive on October 1, 2026, so the Free Fire meta could look very different once the new Clash Squad season begins.
